Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about my practice or services? Find some common questions & answers below.

  • Sessions with Yael are $225/individual session and $275/couples session.

Sessions with Associates are $160/individual session and $175/couples session.

Sliding scale fees based on need are available. If you are in need of therapy services at a reduced fee, please contact me directly so we can discuss ways to make therapy financially sustainable for you.

  • I am not in-network with insurance. I am considered an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance companies directly. Should you be interested in using your PPO insurance, I can provide a monthly “superbill” outlining services rendered, which you can submit directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

If you are looking for an in-network provider for your HMO or PPO insurance, Psychology Today is a great resource to explore.

  • Sessions are held once per week. Many people find that this is just right for their needs, however there may be times when more than one session a week is indicated. Each person and situation is unique, and session frequency can be an ongoing conversation in our work together.

  • Sessions last up to 50 minutes. Some couples or families may request a 75-minute session to ensure there is enough time to explore and process what is coming up for each member of the couple or family unit. Please inquire about this option directly should you think a 75-minute session would be the best fit for you and your family.

  • In order to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you are expected to notify me at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment. Otherwise, you are responsible for full payment for the missed or rescheduled session. Please understand that I am unable to offer exceptions to this policy.

  • I offer both in person and virtual therapy. My office is located in Hermosa Beach.

  • If your primary residence is in California, we are able to work together virtually. Due to state regulations, I am unfortunately unable to provide therapy to those living outside of California at this time.
